Angelina Bruno (Piccolo)
Angelina Mary Bruno, 96 of Spring Lake Heights passed away on Friday June 15, 2018 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune with her family by her side. Angelina was born in Yonkers and raised in the “Little Italy” section of New York City. She moved to Spring Lake Heights in 1951. Angelina was a communicant of St Catharine’s Church for over 50 years. She was a fixture in her neighborhood and enjoyed watching her children as well as her neighbors children grow up. After raising her children she became a cafeteria lunch lady for the Wall Township Board of Education and worked mainly at the Wall Intermediate School where she was affectionately known as Aunt Angie for 36 years. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, cooking and watching the NY Yankees. Angelina thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her dog Bella and sharing her cookies and tea with her every night.
Angelina was predeceased by her husband of 54 years Frank Bruno in 1993; her brothers Joseph, Albert, Ralph and Funzi Piccolo, her sisters Elsie Garafola, Mary Mazza, Virginia Paradise, Jessie Piccolo, Jean Pinnella and Olga Piccolo. She is survived by her beloved daughter Gloria Kelly and granddaughter Lauren Kelly of Spring Lake Heights with whom she lived with, her beloved son Frank Bruno and his wife Angie of Hemet, CA. Angelina is also survived by a loving sister Eleanor “Dolly” DeLeonardo of Corona, NY; five cherished grandchildren Frank (Dawn) Bruno, Kara Bruno, Lauren Kelly, Samantha Brauer and Nicholas Bruno; three cherished great grandchildren Gabriella, Vincent and Gianna and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Friday June 22, 2018 from 3-7 pm at Orender Family Home for Funerals 2643 Old Bridge Road Manasquan, NJ 08736. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am on Saturday June 23, 2018 at St. Catharine Church, Spring Lake. Interment to follow at St Catharine Cemetery, Sea Girt.
