John "Jack" McNamara
John F ”Jack” McNamara, 87 of Wall Township passed away on Wednesday June 20, 2018 at Ocean Medical with his family by his side. Jack was born in New York City and raised in Jersey City. He attended St Michaels HS and Rutgers University. Jack served in the US Naval Reserve in 1950-58. He and his wife, Claire, had lived in Old Bridge and New Providence before moving to Spring Lake Heights in 1993. After graduating Rutgers University, Jack was a manufacture sales representative for over 40 years working for Pheoll Manufacturing. He was an avid golfer who enjoyed playing in Ireland and was a former member of Plainfield CC. Jack accumulated five hole in ones and shot his age numerous times. He was big fan of the NY Yankees and season ticket holder of the NY Giants. He was devoted parishioner at St Denis Church in Manasquan.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years Claire (nee Nizolek) McNamara of Wall Township; his loving children and their spouses Elizabeth and Anthony Diana of Oxford, NJ, Sean and Karen McNamara of St. Petersburg, FL, Michael and Janet McNamara of Basking Ridge, NJ, Christopher McNamara of Red Bank, NJ and John and Rebecca McNamara of Greenville, SC. Jack was predeceased by his sister Margaret McNamara. Jack is also survived by two sisters and a brother, Veronica Gebert of Warren, NJ, Kevin (Barbara) McNamara of Yardley, PA, Kathleen (Tom) Ferraro of Ft. Myers, FL and twelve loving grandchildren and three cherished great grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Monday June 25, 2018 from 4-8 pm at Orender Family Home for Funerals 2643 Old Bridge Road Manasquan, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 am at St. Denis Church, Manasquan on Tuesday June 26, 2018. Interment will be private at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ at a later date.
