Christella Fischer (Clohosey)
Christella Fischer, 66, of Manasquan passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, June 24th, surrounded by her family. Chris was born in South Orange and attended Columbia High School in Maplewood, New Jersey. She married Bob Fischer in 1980, and they had two sons: Michael (’81) and Bobby (’83). They moved to Manasquan, NJ, in the early ‘90s and settled into the beach community where she had spent so much time with her family as a child.
Over the course of her life she owned a gourmet cheese shop, managed a popular restaurant, and for the last twenty years worked as a real estate agent, most recently at the Wood Agency in Manasquan. She spent summers checking badges at the beach and increasingly dedicated her time to local charity, notably alongside the group Squan Strong in response to the devastation caused by Super Storm Sandy. She participated in The Sandy Ground Project, The Holly Jolly Trolley Tour, The Kilt Run, The Out of the Darkness Walk for Suicide Prevention and other events to raise money for various causes.
Christella is survived by her husband of 38 years Robert “Bob” Fischer of Manasquan; her sons Bobby and Michael; her brothers, Jerry and Bobby, her sister Laura. She was a consistent lighthouse of kindness and empathy and her warmth will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
