Benjamin A Hurley, 98 of Wall passed away Tuesday August 7, 2018 at Care One of Wall with his family by his side. Benjamin was born in Ocean Grove and raised in the Jersey Shore area. He was a graduate of Neptune High School and entered the US Navy in 1941 and retired as a Chief Petty Officer ADRC after 20 years of service. After his retirement he worked for various Ford dealerships in the parts department. After his second retirement he would spend time between New Jersey and Florida. Benjamin was known as a superior gardener. Benjamin’s family would like to extend a very special thank you to Ascend Hospice for their compassion and care they gave to their father.
Benjamin was predeceased by his wife of 36 years Eunice in 1985. He is survived by his children; George “Buck” Hurley and his wife Elizabeth “Bonnie” of Wall and Mary Lou Ogle and her husband Jim of Wall. Benjamin is also survived by three grandchildren Michelle Hurley, Jim Ogle Jr. (Stefanie) and Kelly Ogle; six great grandchildren Julian, Jace, Regan, Kiera, Harper and Blake; a sister Marilyn “Sis” Major of Ocean Township.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday August 10, 2018 from 4-8 pm at Orender Family Home for Funerals 2643 Old Bridge Road Manasquan, NJ with a funeral service beginning at 7 pm.
