Thomas F. Morris, 81, passed away on Thursday December 13, 2018, at his home in Manasquan, surrounded by his loving family. Thomas was better known to most people as Tom or Tommy. He was born in Jersey City, lived in Nebraska and Florida, then returned to New Jersey, where he raised his family and became successful in the restaurant business. He started with a small chicken franchise named Chicken Delight, then purchased the Four Winds Restaurant in 1967, which he owned and operated until his retirement in 2007. Tom also served in the U.S. Army Reserves during the Vietnam War between 1960 and 1966. Tom believed in giving back to the community, and was a PBA lifetime member, Wall Township Man of the Year, NJ National Guard Employer of the Year, and a contributor to many local charitable organizations.

Tom loved the ocean, and in his younger years, worked as a boat captain and fished the Caribbean, Florida, Costa Rica, and the east coast of the United States. He had a particular affection for Walkers Cay, Bahamas and Hatteras, North Carolina. In his later years, he travelled to many other countries, including England, Scotland, Ireland, Croatia, Italy, and Spain. However, as his friends know, he much preferred traveling via the Discovery Channel.
Tom was predeceased by his parents Thomas, Cecelia, and Carolyn Morris. He is survived by his wife Lynn Connell; his children Thomas Morris (Kellie Nielan), Michael Morris, Joseph Morris (Lia Morris) and Christine Hare; his grandchildren Brian Hare, Kaitlyn Allen, Sean Lennon, Kristi Lennon and Thomas Morris; and his sister, Joan Lee.
From all of us, to our Tommy, Dad, and Grandpa, you were our rock, our hero, our inspiration and made us all so very happy. Our world will never be the same without you. Thank you, we miss you and may you rest in peace. At Tom’s request there will be no service, so to all of his dear and cherished friends, thank you for making Tommy’s world a better place.
