Lori Ann (nee Cirronella) Romer, 57 of Howell passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2018 with her family by her side. Lori was born on November 20, 1961 in Staten Island and was raised in Colts Neck, NJ. She graduated from St. John Vianney High School and Seton Hall University School of Nursing. Lori worked for over 30 years as a psychiatric nurse. She worked for the state of New Jersey at Marlboro State Psychiatric Hospital and at Brisbane Hospital for Children. Lori then worked as a nurse/screener at Kimball Medical Center and on the Children’s unit at Monmouth Medical Center. She spent nearly 20 years working with individuals experiencing mental illness for CPC Behavioral Health Services and as an advocate for families with the Monmouth County Mental Health Association. She brought extraordinary skill and passion working with people struggling with serious mental illness and providing support to people who experienced the loss of a loved one by suicide. She, and her husband Jim, facilitated a support group for Survivors of Suicide through Monmouth Medical Center for over 25 years. Lori was honored last year by CPC for her lifelong dedication and compassion for survivors of suicide. Lori is a devoted communicant at Saint Martha’s Church and was planning on volunteering as a parish nurse upon retirement.

Lori fought the good fight after being diagnosed with cancer five years ago and we would like to thank Dr. Seth Cohen of MMC and his team that supported her in this fight. Despite ongoing treatment she lived her life to the fullest as a mother, wife and psychiatric nurse. She leaves behind her best friend, soul mate and husband, Jim and her 21 year old son and pride and joy, Jim Jr. Lori also leaves behind her loving parents, James and Dolores Cirronella of Freehold, her brother James Cirronella and his wife Cheryl of Teaneck and her sister Jamie Gross and husband Glenn of Jacksonville Florida. She also leaves behind her niece, Lauren, and her two nephews Matthew and Robert.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 3-8 pm at Orender Family Home for Funerals 2643 Old Bridge Road Manasquan, NJ 08736. Jim and family. I just heard of Lori’s passing. I am so very sorry. I can’t believe this beautiful woman is no longer here. Her beautiful soul lives on to do good. She was so sweet to me , talking to me on the phone at the height of a disaster that had taken place in my life and assured me that all would be ok. I have thought about her for a while. Your wife was an angel as I’m sure you know. God bless you n your family. I will never forget her.

Lori’s family: I'm so sorry for your loss. I went through a similar situation and I was very helped by the hope that I found in the Bible in John 5: 28, which says, "Do not amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out". I am sending you a link with more information on this hope.
