Ruth Ellen (Dorrer) Myers, 85 of Wall passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 20, at her home. She was born on May 19, 1933 in Long Branch, NJ. She was married for 54 years to Elmer Myers Jr of Wall, NJ. She is predeceased by her parents Lester and Anna Edna (White) Dorrer and her sister Alice Dorrer. Ruth worked as a bookkeeper for the Asbury Park and Ocean Grove Bank, later known as NJ National Bank and Trust and she was a Health Resources Publishing correspondence assistant. Ruth was an active member and officer of the Ocean Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, Bearer of the American Flag, since 1978. She served on an advisory board of the Rainbow Girls. She was an active member of Pride of Wall Seniors. Ruth enjoyed crafting and volunteered her time and services. She crocheted and knitted caps for a local hospital. She enjoyed baking for fundraisers, gardening, cooking, and sewing. She volunteered for local schools and sports teams. Ruth was a member of Glendola Bible Protestant Church and attended Avon United Methodist Church where she was active in its affairs.

Ruth is survived by her husband Elmer Myers Jr, her sister Hazel (Dorrer) Beling and Ross Dorrer (married to Marilyn of Wall). She is succeeded by her three children; Debra (of Bel Air, MD), Elmer (married to Jean Myers of Teaneck, NJ) and William (married to Lisa Myers of Abingdon, MD). Her eight grandchildren are Nickerson, Amanda, Kevin, Ella, Olivia, Anna, Aidan, and Marco.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday January 25, 2019 from 4-8 pm at Orender Family Home for Funerals 2643 Old Bridge Road Manasquan, NJ with an Order of the Eastern Star Service to begin at 7:30 pm. A funeral service will be held 10 am on Saturday January 25, 2019 at the funeral home with the interment to follow at Monmouth Memorial Park Cemetery, Tinton Falls, NJ.
