Thomas E. Hurley, Sr., 81 of Lakewood passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Tom was born in Neptune and lived in the Jersey Shore Area his whole life before moving to Lakewood in 1995. Tom was a United States Marine Corp veteran serving during the Vietnam Era. Upon his completion of his military service Tom became a truck driver and his career spanned over 45 years. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 701 and was also a shop steward. Tom worked for various companies Jersey Seaboard Lines, Baxter Medical Supply and Cooper Electric. In his spare time Tom was an avid fisherman and enjoyed playing golf, but most importantly family was everything to him.

Tom was predeceased by a son, Robert S. Hurley in 2010 and his five siblings, Woody, Francis, Charlie, Kenny and Leroy. He is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years Shirley (nee Kaney) Hurley of Lakewood, his two loving sons Thomas E. Hurley, Jr. and his wife Judi of N.C. and William K. Hurley and his wife Dina of Belmar. Tom is also survived by his daughter-in-law Randi Hurley of Brick and his seven cherished grandchildren Shannon, Chelsea, Ryan, Taylor, Trevor, Samantha and Scott; three great grandchildren Brayden, Ava and Sophia.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Sunday, April 7, 2019 from 1 - 5pm at Orender Family Home for Funerals 2643 Old Bridge Road Manasquan, NJ 08736. A celebration of Life Service will begin at 4 pm. Burial will be private at Greenwood Cemetery, Brielle.
