Dr. Evan A. Stamos, 83 of Brielle passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 16, 2019 in his sleep at his home. He was born in Elizabeth, NJ and his family moved to Metedeconk, NJ in the early 1940’s. He attended Osborneville School, Brick and graduated from Point Pleasant Beach High School in 1953. Dr. Stamos attended Rutgers University School of Pharmacy in Newark. Upon his graduation he served with the New Jersey National Guard. He then attended New Jersey College of Medicine and received his Medical Degree in 1962. He served an internship in medicine at St. Michaels’s Hospital, Newark. He went on to complete a fellowship in cardiology in Jersey City. In 1970 he joined the Medical Staff at Point Pleasant Hospital which later became Ocean Medical Center. There he remained until his retirement. He maintained a cardiology practice in Brick where he was a most beloved physician for 40 years. While at Brick Hospital, he served as Chief of Staff and was devoted to giving his patients quality medical care. Dr. Stamos was a member of the American Medical Association, the American Heart Association, Manasquan River Golf Club, Santa Lucia River Club, Port St. Lucie, FL and St. Denis Church. He enjoyed golf, tennis, flying his airplane, sailing his boat in his earlier years. He loved Greek music and dancing.

Dr. Stamos was predeceased by his parents Mary and Gus Stamos; a sister Crystal Aridas; a brother Tony Stamos; a brother-in-law Straty Aridas; his sisters-in-law Eileen and Connie Stamos. He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Sandra (nee Jubak) Stamos of Brielle; his three loving daughters Daphne and Lee Keshishian and their children Armand, Ila and Lilit of Potomac, MD; Deidre and David Lonzo and their children Sebastian and Benjamin of Brielle, NJ; Hilary and Andrew Levin and their children Gus, Nathan and Piper of Hanover, MA. He is also survived by his sister Myrtle and her husband Nicholas Stavres of Brielle, NJ and Treasure Island, FL; his brother George Stamos of Point Pleasant, NJ and Jupiter, FL; his brother Leonard Stamos and his wife Linda of St. Petersburg, FL.; as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, May 24, 2019 from 3-8 pm at Orender Family Home for Funerals 2643 Old Bridge Road Manasquan, NJ. On Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 9:30 am there will be a “Celebration of Life Eulogy” at St Denis Church 90 Union Avenue Manasquan, NJ 08736 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Brielle.
