Mafalda (nee Mancini) “Muffie” Cinelli, 90 of Jersey City passed away on Wednesday May 22, 2019 at her nephew’s home with her loving family by her side. Muffie was born and raised in Jersey City and was a graduate of Snyder High School. After her graduation Muffie worked for Colgate Palmolive Corp, Jersey City as an administrative assistant for 8 years before her and her husband Frank took over her mother family business in 1955, Victory Pizzeria and Restaurant. Muffie and her husband had operated the pizzeria for over 45 years. They were the first pizzeria to use heated trucks for home delivery. After retiring from the pizzeria Muffie had worked for 10 years as the Borough of Belmar tourism center from 2009 until 2018. She loved to dance, she loved everything about Frank Sinatra, loved swimming in the ocean and most of all cherished her time with her entire family.

Muffie was predeceased by her husband of 58 years Frank Cinelli in 2008; her parents Anthony and Laura Mancini; her sisters Frances Conte, Yolanda Colacurcio, Antoinette Cappello and Edith Cinelli. She is survived by a sister Isabel Torchio of West Palm Beach, FL; her twenty eight nieces and nephews, thirty eight grand nieces and nephews and sixteen great grand nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday May 24 from 2-7 pm at Reilly Bonner Funeral Home, Belmar. A visitation will also be held on Saturday May 25, 2019 from 9:30 am until 10:30 am at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Jersey City. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 am. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ. At Muffie’s request in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital PO Box 1000 Dept 142.
