Luis A. Moraga, 65 of Jersey City and Point Pleasant Beach passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2019 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center with his loving family by his side. Luis was born and raised in Chile, later relocating to United States in 1985. Upon moving to the US, he started a new chapter in Jersey City, NJ where he began his career as a social worker. He spent the next 30 years working for Spectrum Health Care and New Jersey Community Research Initiative. He enjoyed spending time with his family, cooking, fishing, a good scotch, and a good laugh. Luis was an avid NY Jets fan. On Sundays you could find Luis at the Meadowlands, along side his Father-in-law, Bill Byrnes and Brother-in-law, Mark Byrnes. When he wasn’t at the Meadowlands, the family was always together in the iconic neighborhood of “Suburbia Terrace” in Country Village, Jersey City.

Luis was predeceased by his parents Luis Alfonso and Fresia Moraga and a sister Maria Angelica Moraga. He is survived by his wife Caryn Byrnes, a son Louis Moraga; two daughters Jacqueline Moraga and Sofia Yengo all of Point Pleasant Beach. Luis is also survived by a sister Maria Ines Munoz, and two brothers Jorge and Francisco Moraga of Chile.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Wednesday May 29, 2019 from 5-8 pm at Orender Family Home for Funerals 2643 Old Bridge Road Manasquan, NJ. A funeral service will begin at 7:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to make a donation to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
