My deepest condolences to Chris and family. Toby was my childhood best friend. We lived on the same street in Wall Township, NJ until later on when Toby and his Mom moved to an apartment complex on the other side of Wall. Growing up we spent many memorable times together. We played a lot of baseball which included playing a game called "Errors" in which we used a hard rubber baseball, and played on the street in front of Toby's house on Birchwood Lane in Wall. The object of the game was to throw the ball as hard as you could to make the other person commit an error by not catching the ball when thrown at them. We also played a lot of basketball, soccer and football. We rode our bicycles in the neighborhood, and made ramps made out of wood that were used as jumps. Toby was always mechanically inclined. He could fix anything. He bought a used Honda motorcycle that didn't run, and with much trial and error made it run. When he bought the motorcycle he pushed it 3 miles down Belmar Blvd. to get it back to his house. He also bought a go kart frame with no motor, and took a motor from a snow thrower someone was getting rid of and put it on the go kart. He rode that all around the neighborhood. The tires were so bad that he would slide back on forth when driving it. We did a lot of things together during our childhood years. Toby was always a hard worker in whatever he did. When he was still going to school he got a summer job working at a nearby perfume factory where they bottled perfume. He used to complain on how hard it was to get the perfume smell off himself and his clothes. Toby liked to have fun and to laugh. One time he had a loudspeaker system that he set up in his room on the 2nd floor of his house. There was a neighborhood boy across the street. Toby through the loudspeaker said to the boy "Doug, this is God". The boy looked up into the sky wondering where the voice came from. Then Toby with a God like voice would speak to him, and the boy really thought it was God. It was hilarious. We couldn't stop laughing. After high school Toby I believe lived with his mom in a trailer park in Wall Township near Manasquan. He then later moved to a rented house in West Belmar , close to where he worked at Shark River Shell as a mechanic for many years. After Toby got married I stayed in touch with him, but we didn't see each other too much, just occasionally. About a year and a half ago Toby called me and we started talking on the phone again, and I last visited him about that time. We would call each other every so often to see how each of us were doing. Toby would always ask how my son, my mom, and the rest of my family were doing. He had a heart of thinking of others before himself. I found out shortly after I attempted to call him recently that Toby had passed away. It really hurt me. I will miss him very much.

I love you Toby. I hope someday I will see you again in heaven.
