Once she was able to return to college, Joan went to Monmouth College, West Long Branch where she graduated in 1970. While attending Monmouth College Joan worked for MCAP. Upon her graduation, Joan began her 31-year career working for Monmouth County Board of Social Services. She retired in 2001 and devoted the rest of her life to creating happy memories with family and friends. She will be remembered most for her genuine kindness and empathy for others.
Joan was predeceased by her parents Thomas and Margaret Cuddeback; her two brothers Thomas and Jay Cuddeback. She is survived by her loving two sons and a daughter-in-law (Robert Norman of Lake Como and James and Sheri Norman of Ocean Township). Joan is also survived by a beloved sister Mary Fenton of Wall and brother, Gordon of California, along with her cherished grandchildren Kellie Moore, Kaysie (and spouse Brian) McKay and Kyle Norman; three great grandchildren Braden and Kylie Moore and Clark McKay; her dear nieces Debbie Marchese, Gail Grozalis and Susan Mosser and nephew Ryan Fenton.
Joan saw beauty everywhere; she was an accomplished artist and a member of various local art associations. She loved to travel, especially to different lakes each summer with her extended family. She was a social butterfly with a group of treasured friends whom she adored. A lifelong beach-goer, Joan loved to sit at the boardwalk and watch the waves with Robert. Her favorite way to pass the day was by eating delicious meals at Sheri & JT’s or Mary & Steve’s houses. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of her life.
