Obituary

Harry T. Treacy, 84 of Manasquan passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick with his family by his side. Harry was born in Bronx, NY and had lived in Kingston, NY, Florida and New Jersey while growing up. He was a graduate of Leonardo High School in Middletown and attended Brookdale and Ocean County Community Colleges. Harry served in the US Army and worked for US Naval Operations in Lakehurst as a Senior Technical Specifications Writer for over 30 years. He loved all things that had to do with stock car racing. He was a driver, crew member, car owner as well as a huge fan. He also judged antique car shows in Stowe Vermont. He was an avid traveler who traveled from coast to coast. He was a licensed airplane pilot, enjoyed model railroading, and was a historian who loved going to museums in all of his travels. And when he was not traveling you could always find Harry reading. Most of all, Harry also loved spending time with his family and many grandchildren, and going to all of their various activities.

Harry was predeceased by his parents Harry B Treacy and Jessie Treacy. He is survived by his beloved wife Mary Jo (Shinn) Treacy of Manasquan; his five loving children and their spouses Tara Treacy Glendinning and her husband Chad of Wall, Jack Ely of Wall, Richard Ely and his wife Kelly of Howell, Jeffrey Ely and his wife Michelle of Wall and Brien Ely and his wife Marianne of Spring Lake Heights. Harry was also the cherished grandfather of Jessie, Daniel, Jack, Stefanie, Rayce, RJ, Peyton, Jake and Brien. He was also the beloved brother to Walter Treacy and his wife Patricia of Oceanport and Joseph Treacy and his wife Diane of Simbury, CT, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
