Charles H Bruett III “Chip” passed away on Friday, January 29, 2021 at University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia. Chip was born in Montclair, NJ and raised at the Jersey Shore. Chip was a 1975 graduate of Manasquan High School. He received an associates degree in Forestry from Paul Smith’s College in Saranac, NY. After college Chip began his career as a commercial fisherman, fishing along the East Coast as well as a venture in Alaska. Chip was the owner and operator of Chip Bruett Carpentry for over 20 years. The last two years he worked with a fine group of characters at the Sea Girt Army Camp.Chip loved fishing, hunting, cruising on the river, and skiing. He also took pride in keeping the shop tenants in line and the “soda” machine filled.

Chip was predeceased by his parents William and Margaret Bruett; his brother Jeff Bruett and a sister Carol (Muffy) Funke. He is survived by his devoted wife Susan (nee Herbert) Bruett of Brick; his loving children Kelly, Chase and Ryan Bruett. Chip is also survived by his siblings William Bruett and his wife Karen of VT, Gregory Bruett and his wife Nancy of MA, and Christa Bruett of MS. He is the cherished uncle of Abbie, Dave, Lindsey, Meg, Caycee, Lauren, Geoff, Aaron, Alexa, Jonathan and Carly. Chip leaves behind beloved family members Sherry Bruett, Peter and Linda Funke, Wendy and Joe Maas, Gregg Herbert, and Maribeth Herbert.
Arrangements are under the care of Orender Family Home for Funerals, Manasquan. All services were
private. There will be a Celebration of Life service planned for the summer. In lieu of flowers, memorial
