Obituary

Robert J. Schuster, 94, of Brielle passed peacefully away of natural causes Sunday, February 7, 2021 at Sunnyside Manor, Wall Township, NJ.

Born in Weehawkin, NJ to Jacob and Anna Schuster, Bob moved to Lakewood, NJ at the age of 5, following the untimely death of his father. It was there he was raised by his mother and attended schools. Bob was very active in Scouting during his early years and would often speak of the joy of the outdoor activities he participated in during that time.

After High School, Bob was drafted and proudly served in the US Army during WWII before receiving an honorable discharge. After leaving the Army, Bob took business management classes at Rider University in Lawrenceville. His first job was in New York City with a large Advertising Firm. Bob was blessed with artistic talents and many of his advertising accomplishments could be seen throughout his home in Brielle. Bob also worked for years at JC Penney company and also Brielle furniture.

Bob was predeceased by his wife Veronica (Morris) Schuster. They were happily married for 47 years. Bob and Ronnie were a very loving couple, and Bob was truly devoted to her. Bob always referred to Ronnie as “My Bride” and he loved her “to the moon and back”. They enjoyed their annual trips in the spring to “The Tides” in Virginia. Bob and Ronnie were also members of the Manasquan River Golf Club. Bob was a member of the Church of Brielle.

Arrangements are under the care of Orender Family Home for Funerals, Manasquan. There will be a private burial held at Greenwood Cemetery, Brielle. A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring. To send condolences please visit www.orenderfamilyhome.com.

I met Bob when he came to live at Sunnyside Manor. He truly loved his wife. I will always remember a Happy Hour here where the entertainer was singing a song and I saw him start to tear up. I walked over to him and put my hand on his shoulder and asked "does this remind you of someone special?" and he said yes and I stayed with him until the song was over. He could be tough, but it broke my heart to see him sad . He also loved his Hershey Bars, so when he moved to the Skilled Nursing side, I would visit him on my way out at the end of the day and bring him one every now and then. His eyes lit up. I am happy he is now reunited with the love of his life. I won't forget you Bob ! Rest in Peace. Bettina
