Michael F. Dwyer, 81 of Manasquan passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Michael was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. He served in the US Army from 1959 to 1961 and was stationed in Korea. Michael married Joan Callaghan in 1964, they moved to Staten Island in 1973 where they raised their family. Michael and his wife then moved to Wall Township in 1994 and they currently reside in Four Seasons of Wall. He worked as a pressman for over 45 years, working for many of the major New York newspapers, retired in 2003 from the New York Times. Michael was an avid reader, enjoyed playing and watching golf, crosswords puzzles and vacationing in Florida. Above all, he loved spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren. Michael was a member of the American Legion Post #529 Four Seasons of Wall. He was a very kind and compassionate man, that would do anything for anyone.
Michael was predeceased by his parents Vincent and Rita Dwyer. He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years Joan Dwyer of Manasquan; his loving children Debbie Mullen and her husband John of Wall, NJ and Michael Dwyer and his wife Laura of Chatham, NJ. Michael was the cherished grandfather of Michael, Matthew, Delia and Shane. He is also survived by his beloved sister Peggy Dwyer of Lakewood.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 am on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at St Catharine’s Church, Spring Lake, NJ.
