Betty J. Kasper, 95, of Wall, passed away peacefully on Tuesday March 23, 2021 at Preferred Care, Allenwood. Betty was born in Elizabeth, NJ and was raised in Middle Valley along with her two sisters Marion and Jackie. Her younger years growing up in Middle Valley were memorable, especially with her dog Rover. Betty was a homemaker throughout her young adult life, spending time volunteering at her children’s school functions. Nothing was more important to her than her children, Robin and Chris. They remained her priority until her death. Betty and her daughter were a “team” and best friends, living together in later years as a result of life circumstances and according to God’s plan.

Later in life, Betty worked in the banking industry for 30 years, retiring fully at age 78. She rarely missed a day of work, and she passed that work ethic on to her family, especially when they wanted to feign illness and stay home from school. A voracious reader, Betty enjoyed reading murder mysteries and in contrast, her Bible. Crosswords puzzles were always a favorite past time too! In recent years, she enjoyed watching the Weather Channel, Sci-Fi movies, Sit-coms, Animal Planet, and the News. She loved her collection of elephants (only those with the trunks “up” for good luck!) and her glass, Snow Baby collection. Betty loved her swimming pool in the summer, sitting and watching chipmunks running around the deck and the birds visiting the bird bath. She spent a little time each day on a “project” outdoors often, sweeping up the never-ending leaves and debris from the deck and driveway or, cleaning off her car, affectionately known as her “Baby”. She believed in looking her best and took great care in making sure she did so each and every day, even if only to work around the house. Betty always looked forward to multiple trips each week to Sea Girt and Spring Lake boardwalks with Robin where she could sit, watching the ocean and the people. She would then top it all off with a stop at Wendy’s for her cheeseburger and fries. Betty was a proud and ever supportive Mom and best friend; she will be forever missed.
Betty was predeceased by her parents James and Kathyrn Leamon and her two sisters, Jackie and Marion. She is survived by her devoted daughter Robin Kasper of Manasquan. Betty was the grandmother to Michael, Travis, and Colleen as well as great grandmother to a couple of great grandchildren.
