William Tarbotton, 93 of Wall passed away peacefully on Saturday April 3, 2021 at Preferred Care, Allenwood. William was born in Como, NJ and raised in Brick, NJ. William entered the US Army during WW II when he 17 years old. He served as Military Police for 10 years in Germany, France, and the Philippines. After his military service he lived in Ocean Grove for a few years before moving to Belmar where he lived most of his life. He was a truck driver for several years before being employed by the Belmar Department of Public Works. William assignment for 17 years was the Belmar Marina in which he took great pride in maintaining. He loved woodworking, watching western shows, and taking his car rides to places like Florida, Kansas City and Texas, all to visit family and friends. William was a member of the Neptune American Legion and the Belmar VFW.
William was predeceased by his beloved wife of 54 years Henriette (nee Schuchardt) Tarbotton, a loving son Klaus Tarbotton in 2018 and a granddaughter Jennifer. He is survived by his loving daughter Betty Purdie and her husband George of Brick. William was the cherished grandfather to 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He also leaves behind a brother Ernest Tarbotton of Virginia, a sister-in-law Helga Lentine and her husband Mike of Cream Ridge, NJ, several nieces and nephews and a host of extended family members in Germany.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday April 6, 2021 from 4-7 pm at Orender Family Home for Funerals 2643 Old Bridge Road Manasquan, NJ 08736. Burial will be at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to K9S For Veterans by going online to www.k9sforveteransnfp.org.
